Jim,

Thanks for the feedback. I've put responses into double brackets [[ ]]
after each of your points. My expectation is that the meeting participants
will propose and decide on more changes at the meeting.

I do not know how to put into this charter, but I think the RPC has to
be a strong advocate for the maintaining volunteers. The chain saw
training is a good example of why we need a better voice for the
volunteers. There has to be good flow of information in both ways.

[[ So far we've worked on the organization of the committee, but it
remains for us to develop what the committee is "about." Your point is that
the committee should be about supporting the volunteers -- among other
things, no doubt. Perhaps we could put something into the "Purpose"
section, particularly if the committee wants to expand on it. Feel free to
send me a proposed addition, or bring it to the meeting. -- FB ]]

I think the chairmanship should rotate amongst the various clubs to
avoid any one club dominating the RPC. Therefore the we need the
language that the chairman can not be succeeded by another member of the
same club.

[[ Good idea. I'll add it to the draft. -- FB ]]

How long is a term of office? If it is two or more years, I would limit
the number of consecutive terms for the chairman to two. I think the
ATC follows this policy.

[[ In the draft I've limited it to three two-year terms. I'll leave
the limit at three in the draft, but you could propose a change at the
meeting and let the committee decide. -- FB ]]
