Thyra did not send this to the list so it wouldn't be in the archives. This
will put it in the archives. All the past conversations should be recorded
in the archives so people who join later can find out what has transpired.
I have added several new members listed in Thyra's email below to the list
so everyone is on the list (and a few people who were formerly members).
Former members can unsubscribe from the list by themselves with no help from
me, or a note to me will also work.
There are a number of missing bios. Send them to the list. I will pick them
up from there and put them on our web page HYPERLINK
"http://www.nynjtc.org/ATC/MidAtlantic"www.nynjtc.org/ATC/MidAtlantic.
The bios are all linked on the web page above. The past email to the list is
in the archives. The archives are also linked from the web above.

The church is located across from the Uni-Mart and next to the B.S. High

Who and what are we? Some ideas contributed by Mid-Atlantic Board member
Charlie Graf.
We are a group that is representative of and supportive of maintaining clubs
and agency partners. Members of RPC are interested, informed, and active
members of respective clubs.
At our meetings, we will expect up to date, open communication and
information from the Board of Directors, Stewardship Council, Regional
Office, clubs, and agencies and volunteers.
We can have a real impact on what direction the region, and ATC take, and
give the clubs a voice.
As a group, we need to think and consider pertinent issues that affect the
trail and region.
We may appoint ad hoc/sub committees to study regional issues and make
recommendations for action by the Regional Director or recommendations to be
forwarded to the Stewardship Council and Board of Directors.
We will meet at least twice a year. All meetings are open to all club
members.
The meetings may rotate across the Mid-Atlantic Region. This may encourage
attendance by local club members and agency partners.
The Board of Managers has voted to change the name of the Appalachian Trail
Conference to Appalachian Trail Conservancy. This will take effect in July
2005 at the July1-8 Biennial Conference to be held at East Tennessee State
College.
I want to thank Frank Bohn for developing By-laws for the RPC and Walt
Daniels for maintaining our data.
If there is anything that needs to be added or corrected, please e-mail me.
I thank you all for your willingness to serve on the RPC. I think that we
will be a very effective group.
Happy New Year,
Thyra, Temporary Chair
