Yes they are using a GIS based technique that relies heavily on what can be
seen from where. I think I have a power point presentation of it somewhere.
Also Jim Hutchings, former board member and TLC and RDT chair, did a masters
thesis on similar stuff. I have that also. I will post both on the web when
I find them.

Thanks, Scott. We'll be looking forward to meeting Maryann.

Bob Williams, from the ATC Land Trust, and Dave Ray, from the Southern
Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, gave an excellent presentation at the
Biennial, detailing some of the efforts underway to map and prioritize
parcels of interest. The Conservancies are utilizing some pretty hi-tech
mapping techniques, and are having some notable successes. There's no end
to the work though.

Hi Kerry,Walt,et al... This is to notify you that Don Youngblood has
resigned his position on the MA-RPC. I will be the Club Rep and Martyann
Gutierrez(current BMECC Vice President) will be the alternate. Her e-mail
address is martyann9 at yahoo.com. Please make changes.Development that is far
off the ridge and far from view of the A.T. can change the water tables on
the springs above via wells and sewers. We are fortunate to have lots of Pa.
State Game Lands(and others) through our section that provides somewhat of a
buffer.Would it be unreasonable to say that until there are changes in how
our society thinks and builds, constant vigilance is required.See you in
October.Scott Birchman BMECC
