Hi Kerry and all, I think that the spring/fall format remains acceptable. BMECC "MIGHT" pay for our accommodations, I can gauge opinion/bring a motion to the floor @ our next meeting.(12/7/05) Our club's Arboretum (near Bernville,Pa.) might be more acceptable for a one day meeting due to the size. Why not "float" the fall meeting? ( We would have less people @ the one day meeting in fall) There are several motels in the area, either in Reading or more nearby along I - 78. Or,we could camp there!(We are hikers, right?) Just tossing some ideas out, Camp Mohican sounds good.Less expense would be best! Anticipating others suggestions,Scott

A couple of notes:

Cultural and Natural Resources: Tede Fleming

I haven't heard from 7 committee members, concerning their preferences for committee work. If you haven't signed up yet, please let me know which group you're interested in.
On the topic of our Spring meeting, there are several very important issues:
The National Training Center will not be available for our March meeting. Al, Mike, and I (Meetings Committee) will need to find another venue, and are looking for suggestions. We'd like to pin down a location soon, since reservations may be hard to get, if we wait.
There are several issues that we'll need to discuss, concerning the meeting format. At our October meeting, the general consensus was that we would require a 2-day format in order to discuss our Committee business and conduct a discussion with our trail partners. This format is employed in the other regions and seems to work well. Our intention is to schedule one 2-day meeting annually (that will accommodate partners) and one 1-day meeting (for MARPC members and Mid-Atlantic ATC folks). We plan to schedule the 1-day meeting in Boiling Springs, and let the 2-day meeting "float" up and down the Mid-Atlantic corridor, to make it more convenient for members and partners.
The questions that arise are:
1. Is this plan still the consensus among MARPC members?
2. If so, are members (and/or the maintaining clubs they represent) willing to pay for the accommodations and meals that will be required for the 2-day events (and, if so, what is the reasonable limit for these expenditures)?
3. Do you have any suggestions for the Spring 2006 venue?
Please respond as soon as possible. When responding, please respond to the group, using either the listserv or the Forums on our web page. We'd like to have the widest possible participation in this discussion, since it will directly effect our planning (and the work we'll need to accomplish at our limited number of face-to-face get-togethers).
thanks,
Kerry
